Meet Our Team

Dr. Thomas Mano
Veterinarian

Dr. Tom Mano was born and raised in Racine and has lived here for most of his life. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1970 and went on to attend Iowa State University. There, he earned his BS in Zoology (1975) and his DVM (1979).

Post-graduate work included an internship in small animal medicine at Rowley Memorial Hospital in Springfield, MA as well as a variety of career options including large animal medicine. Ultimately, Dr. Tom decided to pursue companion animal care and joined Racine Veterinary Hospital in 1983.

In his spare time, Dr. Tom enjoys gardening, spending time with his black Labrador EZ, and vacationing in Door County.

Dr. Bruce Jens
Veterinarian

Dr. Bruce Jens is a 2000 graduate of the University of Wisconsin. His professional interests include the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions, internal medicine, dermatology, and preventive medicine.

When not caring for pets, Dr. Bruce enjoys boating, cooking, travelling and riding his motorcycle.

Dr. Wendy Sherer
Veterinarian

Dr. Wendy Sherer graduated from the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in 2007. Her professional interests included feline medicine and especially geriatric cats.

In her spare time, Dr. Wendy enjoys keeping fish and watching their interesting behavior. She also loves to travel, whether it’s a day trip around WI, or to exotic locations.

Dr. Amy Hantschel
Veterinarian

Dr. Amy Hantschel is a 2021 graduate of UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include companion animal care including cats and dogs, as well as exotics such as reptiles, small mammals and birds.

Her favorite components of medicine include preventive medicine, soft tissue repair, and chronic pain management.

When not caring for pets, Dr. Amy enjoys hanging out with her herding dogs Benson and Norman, road trips, playing board games and escape rooms with friends.
